These Terms should be read together with our Privacy & Cookie Policy, our Medical, Facilitation & Affiliate Disclaimer, and — if you travel to an Ayurvedic clinic through us — our Kerala Panchakarma Referral & Support Terms.
1. About these terms
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website and your participation in any service, course, event, programme, resource or content we provide. By using the website, booking a service, or submitting an enquiry, you confirm you have read, understood and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or our services.
2. Who we are and what we offer
Grateful Minds provides wellbeing education and support, including:
Free articles, resources, self-assessment quizzes and other content
Dosha self-assessments and Ayurvedic lifestyle guidance, offered on an educational and general wellbeing basis only (not medical advice or diagnosis)
Free masterclasses and information events
Workshops and group sessions (online and in person)
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) courses, taught live
A pre-recorded, self-paced MBSR course (a digital product)
Mindfulness, meditation, yoga and breathwork sessions
Introductions to independent third-party Ayurvedic clinics and practitioners, together with our own preparation and support (see clause 11 and our separate Kerala terms)
What we do not do. We do not provide medical treatment, diagnosis, accommodation or travel services. We are not a tour operator, travel agent or medical provider. Where you choose to book treatment, accommodation or a stay with a third-party provider, your contract for those services is with that provider, not with us (see clause 11).
3. Educational nature — no medical advice
Everything we offer is for education and general wellbeing only. It is not medical, psychological, psychiatric or nutritional advice, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified healthcare professional. Ayurveda and dosha guidance are offered as traditional, general wellbeing education — we are an educator and guide, not a clinical practitioner, and we do not diagnose, treat, prescribe or cure. Please see our Medical, Facilitation & Affiliate Disclaimer, and always consult your GP or a qualified professional before acting on any wellbeing guidance, particularly if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication, or under medical care.
4. Who can use our services
Our website and services are intended for adults aged 18 or over. They are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly provide services to anyone under 18.
5. Bookings and payment (our own services)
Details of each course, workshop, session or product, including the price, are shown at the point of booking.
Unless stated otherwise, full payment is required before your place is confirmed or before you access paid content.
Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added.
Payments are processed securely by third-party providers (for example Stripe or PayPal). We do not store your full card details.
A booking is confirmed once you receive confirmation from us by email.
6. Cancellations, refunds and your cooling-off rights
Your statutory rights. If you are a consumer buying online or at a distance, you may have a 14-day "cooling-off" right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Some important exceptions apply:
Live, dated events (courses, workshops and masterclasses with a set date or period) may be exempt from the 14-day right.
Services you ask us to begin during the cooling-off period: if you ask us to start before the 14 days end, you may be charged for what has already been provided, and you lose the right to cancel once the service is fully performed.
Digital content (such as the self-paced MBSR product): if you ask for immediate access and acknowledge that you lose your cancellation right by doing so, no refund is available once you have started accessing it.
Our cancellation policy for live courses, workshops and sessions (where the statutory cooling-off right does not apply or has passed):
100% refund — 3 or more weeks before the start date
50% refund — between 3 weeks and 1 week before
25% refund — between 1 week and 3 days before
No refund — within 3 days of the start date
Free events (masterclasses, info evenings, free content) carry no charge, so no refund applies.
The self-paced MBSR digital product is subject to the cooling-off and digital-content rules above. Once you have started accessing the content (having waived your cancellation right), the purchase is non-refundable.
Facilitation fees for Ayurvedic referrals are dealt with in our separate Kerala Panchakarma Referral & Support Terms. Treatment, accommodation and clinic costs are paid to, and refundable only by, the clinic on its own terms.
7. Delivery of our services
Online sessions are delivered via Zoom or a similar platform; you are responsible for a suitable internet connection and device.
In-person sessions include location and logistical details in your confirmation.
We aim to respond to enquiries within 2 working days.
8. Your responsibility and your health
You are responsible for your own physical, emotional and mental wellbeing. By taking part you agree that:
you will seek medical advice before participating where appropriate, and you will not take part against medical advice;
you will tell us (and any practitioner) about any relevant health condition where it affects your safe participation;
in physical practices (such as yoga or breathwork), you will work within your own limits and stop if you feel unwell or uncomfortable.
Participation is voluntary and at your own risk.
9. Intellectual property
All content we provide — including recordings, course materials, the self-paced MBSR product, guides, quizzes and written materials — is owned by or licensed to Grateful Minds and protected by copyright. It is provided for your personal, non-commercial use only. You may not copy, share, distribute, republish, resell or use it commercially. The self-paced MBSR product is licensed to you, not sold, for your own individual use; the licence is personal, non-transferable and may be withdrawn for breach of these Terms.
10. Affiliate and referral relationships
We sometimes earn a referral fee or commission when you choose to book or buy through providers or partners we recommend. This does not increase the price you pay unless we clearly say so. We only recommend things aligned with our values and experience. Full details are in our Medical, Facilitation & Affiliate Disclaimer.
11. Third-party providers (clinics, practitioners, partners)
Where we introduce you to an independent third-party provider — such as an Ayurvedic clinic — you understand that:
we act as an introducer and provide our own preparation and support; we do not deliver, supervise or control the provider's services;
your contract for treatment, accommodation and any clinic services is directly with that provider, on their terms, and you pay them directly for those services;
we are not responsible for the provider's care, outcomes, pricing, availability, scheduling, cancellations or conduct;
any concerns or claims about those services must be raised with the provider.
This is explained more fully in our Kerala Panchakarma Referral & Support Terms and Medical, Facilitation & Affiliate Disclaimer.
12. Content you submit
If you submit content to us (for example a testimonial, review or community post), you confirm you have the right to share it and that it is lawful. We may use, edit for length or clarity, or remove it. We will only use your name or testimonial publicly with your permission, and we will never edit a testimonial into a health or medical claim.
13. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for: death or personal injury caused by our negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:
we are not liable for the acts, omissions, services, outcomes or conduct of any third-party provider;
we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable;
we are not liable for decisions you make based on our educational content;
our total liability to you in connection with any service is limited to the amount you paid us for that service.
[NEEDS SOLICITOR REVIEW: this limitation clause and its enforceability under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.]
14. Privacy and cookies
We handle your personal data in line with our Privacy & Cookie Policy.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page, with the "Last updated" date shown above. Continued use of our services after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
